Hyderabad Airport to Nampally - What is the most economical way to travel for a family of four?

For a family of four people, what is the most economical and the easiest way to reach Nampally from Hyderabad Airport? I understand the fare in Aero-express bus is Rs.150 per person, and this would cost me Rs.600 for four people. Also, Aero-express buses do not reach Nampally, and I would need to take another auto-rickshaw from Charminar or Mehdipatnam.

How about private "pre-paid" kind of taxis (similar to the ones available in Delhi or Chennai airports)? Are these available in Hyderabad? What about radio taxis? How expensive would these be, for this distance? Are there any other options? Thanks.

Prepaid Taxis in Hyderabad charge anywhere between Rs 10 to Rs 19 which depends on the type of cab service you select. It's around 23 Kms from Mehdipatnam to the Hyderabad Airport(Shamshabad). The other option you may have is to come out of the airport premises to the actual main road from where you can get buses or autos. The distance is 9 kms. But this may be cumbersome especially if you have luggage and also if your flight lands late night or very early morning.



I think AeroExpress is a good option but I agree that it is little expensive.

The rates could vary between Rs. 10 and Rs. 18 per km depending on the type of vehicle. HIAL to Nampally would be between 22-32km depending on the route you choose. I suggest you take the route via Srisailam Road (not sure if there is a link up yet). This will be shortest via Chandrayanagutta etc. Else via Mehdipatnam would be around 35km. So, your expenditure will be around Rs. 550 which will be lesser than Aero Express and obviously more convenient as you can reach your door step!!!
